1940's Simplicity 3111 Vintage Sewing Pattern Misses' Two-Piece Suit and Gilet: The shawl collar is cut in one with the front of the dart-fitted jacket. Long sleeves and a front-button closing are featured. The halter-like gilet, styled with weskit points at the lower edge, is fitted with darts, and has a closing at the back waistline. Darts at the waistline fit the wrap-around skirt which is joined to a waistband and fastened with buttons at the side. Style 1 jacket has breast pockets faced with the same material as the gilet. A tie collar finishes the neckline of the gilet. In Style 2 the gilet has a tiny pointed collar.
